Cecille Horgen was a 24-year-old when she was admitted to Puhua International Hospital due to “intermittent seizures for17 years and no speech communication for 5 years,” with a diagnosis of: Seizure Disorder (Epilepsy).
Cecille was totally normal until the age of 8 years, when she initially presented with headache and fever on 10th October 1993. She was sent to hospital and a right ventricle arachnoid CT scan noted cyst. An operation was performed to remove the cyst. When Cecille recovered from the operation, her condition resolved, with almost complete loss of language skills. She still suffers from a seizure disorder.
Cecille’s mother decided to seek Stem Cell Treatment (SCT) for her epilepsy at PIH.
Medical condition before Stem Cell Treatment (SCT)
For five years before stem cell treatment, Patient Cecille didn’t speak a word or smile. She always maintained a stiff and straight body posture, during which she kept her hands on her legs (awake or asleep). She kept silent, without speech communication or eye contact with her family numbers. She was very sensitive and nervous in front of strangers.
Stem Cell Treatment (SCT)
Injections of neural stem cells, stem cell activation and proliferation therapy, and rehabilitation therapy
Medical condition after Stem Cell Treatment (SCT)
After Stem Cell Therapy (SCT), Cecille’s seizure disorder was significantly improved. Also, Cecille started to speak to her Mom and sister soon after the stem cell treatment. She has been more and more cooperative while doing TCM therapy, rehabilitation therapy and the stem cell therapy procedure. She became more flexible and relaxed, and showed an improved ability to do her exercises, such as playing ball, riding on bicycle and running on treadmill.
She is now occasionally able to speak with others besides to her mother, and to do some movements more naturally. She has had more eye contact with others, as well as more natural emotional expressions on her face (with more smiling, more stable mood and improved body posture, day and night). She will sleep for 8-10 hours a day now, instead of 2-3 as before treatment.
18 February 2011
Patient Cecille's seizures have become significantly less frequent. She also began speaking more, and has shown increased mental clarity. She is much more expressive than she was before she was treated, and her family feels that her general situation has been improved a great deal by her SCT at Puhua International.
