Patient MayedSuhaappeared to a healthy boy at birth. However, by about 5 months old, his body and limbs wear noted to be‘soft, weak and inflexible.’ By then he couldn’t raise his head, and was taken to the local hospital: no specific treatment was offered. With time, his body and limbs became more rigid, especially when he became nervous or excited.
On October 2010, he went to Thailand for rehabilitation therapy. After the 6months of combined rehabilitation and medical therapy, his condition had improved.
Medical Condition before Stem Cell Treatment(SCT) for Brain Development Disorder
When Patient MayedSuha was admitted to PIH, his speech was slurred and slow. His muscle tone was elevated, especially when he was nervous. Muscle strength of his body and limbs was poor. He could raise his head, but only for a few seconds. He could not turn his body over withoutassistance, nor could he could he stand without assistance. He presented with gait abnormalities. His hands were in position of flexion. He could grasp, but with poor control and without strength.

Stem cell implantation via lumbar puncture and IV injections, medical therapy to improve blood circulation of the brain and improve nutritional status of the nerve cells, combined with Chinese Traditional Medicine (TCM) (acupuncture) and rehabilitation therapy (occupational therapy and physical therapy)

After SCT the patient began to be able to speak clearer and faster, and with less involuntary movements. Improvements were also noted in the strength of this trunk, balance, and limb control/muscle tone. The patient was able turn his body over independently. He began to be able to raise his head for longer periods of time. He could stand steadily with less assistance. He also began to step forward, step-by-step, with his feet flat on the floor. His fingers became much less hypertonic. He began to grasp with better strength, facility and control. He began to feed himself.
